Background information
Web pages use slightly-different terminology than word-processing programs when referring to lists. Fortunately, lists work mostly the same.
Numbered lists are called ordered lists because the increasing numbers give the list an order. Numbered lists are intended for lists like the instructions in a recipe.
Bulleted lists are called unordered lists because the bullet symbols don't imply an order. Bulleted lists are good for most other lists.
Note: most people like it when the sub-points in numbered lists are letters (e.g.: a, b, c) and the sub-sub-points are roman numerals (e.g.: i, ii, iii). Likewise, some people prefer boxes or triangles for sub-points in bullet lists. If you notice that your bullets or numbers aren't the numbers or symbols you want, please consider talking to us... changing bullets and numbering is an easy, two-minute change for us.
