Many images on the Internet are owned by the person who took the picture, or have been purchased by a website to use... so Google searching for an image and putting it on your web page is a bad idea... the photographer or purchaser of that image may sue your organization, or at the very least, write an article on their website about how you have stolen their property and used it without their permission (which will be forever associated with your organization name by the virtue of search engines).
The cheapest alternative is to use photos taken by a member of your organization. Additionally, if you're a not-for-profit organization, many people would be happy to donate some of their pictures for you to use... just make sure that they know that you want to use them on your website.
Another alternative is to purchase a stock photo from one of the many stock photo websites out there. One of the most popular ones is iStockPhoto, but searching the web will yield other alternatives. Photos are often priced by their size (technically by image dimension... see below), and since you only need small ones for the web, one image should only cost you a few dollars.
