Matthew was a tax collector, shunned and scorned by society but transformed by the grace of God when Jesus called him to leave everything and follow him - his life was never the same.
In his gospel he provides us with a personal, eye-witness account of the life and ministry of his Saviour, Jesus Christ, including such famous passages as the Sermon on the Mount and the Olivet Discourse. But the beauty of Matthew’s gospel is that we are presented with the glory of Jesus Christ as King – a King we serve with hope and joy and a King who is coming soon.
